Bachelorhood

Every summer my wife Becci heads to Michigan for a couple of weeks after school lets out. She is a school bus driver and has the summers off. She's been gone for 2 weeks now and is on her way home now. It's a nice break for both of us. She gets to see lots of friends and family and I get to eat what I want (all the stuff that I like that she doesn't care for) and watch the tv shows that she doesn't like and pretty much do whatever I want for a couple of weeks. So I've been pigging out on shrimp and hot wings and watching World Series of Poker on tv! Of course with her gone I have plenty of other things to keep my busy as well taking care of the critters and keeping up with the household chores as well. We talk on the cell phones a couple of times a day and keep each other caught up with all the news. I'm happy to report that all of her flowers are still healthy after 2 weeks of intense heat and all the hummingbird feeders and the finch feeder and bird feeders are full as well. Exciting stuff huh? Well....those 4 tomatos that we planted upside down in the coffee cans aren't doing very well but that's not because I didn't water them! Looked like a great idea but just isn't working out very well so far. We have some other tomatoes in the garden that are doing well tho. The baby chicks are about 3 times as big as they were when she left so they are all doing quite well also. I'll try to put some pics of them in here soon.

  1. Well living in the country has its own way of being exciting. All those things are just what REAL living is all about in my book.
